AC 22 (+24 with shield raised); Fort +13, Ref +12, Will +11; Bravery
HP 78
Reactive Shield Requirements You are wielding a shield. Trigger An enemy hits you with a melee Strike. You can snap your shield into place just as you would take a blow, avoiding the hit at the last second. You immediately use the Raise a Shield action and gain your shield’s bonus to AC. The circumstance bonus from the shield applies to your AC when you’re determining the outcome of the triggering attack.

Shield Block Trigger While you have your shield raised, you would take damage from a physical attack. You snap your shield in place to ward off a blow. Your shield prevents you from taking an amount of damage up to the shield’s Hardness. You and the shield each take any remaining damage, possibly breaking or destroying the shield.

Attack of Opportunity Trigger A creature within your reach uses a manipulate action or a move action, makes a ranged attack, or leaves a square during a move action it’s using. You lash out at a foe that leaves an opening. Make a melee Strike against the triggering creature. If your attack is a critical hit and the trigger was a manipulate action, you disrupt that action. This Strike doesn’t count toward your multiple attack penalty, and your multiple attack penalty doesn’t apply to this Strike.

Speed 20 feet
Melee Dagger +13 (Agile, Finesse, Thrown 10 ft., Versatile S), Damage 1d4+4 P

Battle Medicine (General, Healing, Manipulate, Skill) Prerequisites trained in Medicine Requirements You are holding or wearing healer’s tools. You can patch up yourself or an adjacent ally, even in combat. Attempt a Medicine check with the same DC as for Treat Wounds, and restore a corresponding amount of Hit Points; this does not remove the wounded condition. As with Treat Wounds, you can attempt checks against higher DCs if you have the minimum proficiency rank. The target is then temporarily immune to your Battle Medicine for 1 day.

Everstand Stance (Stance) Requirements You are wielding a shield. You brace your shield with both hands, enhancing its potential for both offense and defense. When in this stance, you wield the shield with both hands. When wielding a shield this way, increase the weapon damage die of the shield’s boss or spikes by one step, and increase the shield’s Hardness by 2 when using the Shield Block reaction.

Aggressive Block Trigger You use the Shield Block reaction, and the opponent that triggered Shield Block is adjacent to you and is your size or smaller. You push back as you block the attack, knocking your foe away or off balance. You use your shield to push the triggering creature, either automatically Shoving it 5 feet or causing it to become flat-footed until the start of your next turn. The triggering creature chooses whether to be moved or become flat-footed. If it chooses to be moved, you choose the direction. If the Shove would cause it to hit a solid object, enter a square of difficult terrain, or enter another creature’s space, it must become flat-footed instead of being moved.

Additional Feats: Continual Recovery, Cooperative Nature, Godless Healing, Medical Researcher, Quick Repair, Risky Surgery
Additional Specials: Fighter Weapon Mastery (Shield)

BACKGROUND

The quiet town of Stagsfell, nestled within the broad valleys and surrounded by towering pine-covered hills, was home to a humble barber named Markus. His shop was more than a place for haircuts and clean shaves. It was a community center, a place where town folk gathered to share stories and news. But most importantly, it was a place of healing. Markus, you see, was also the closest thing the town had to a doctor.

As Markus’ only son, Elian grew up among clippings and shaving foam, bandages and antiseptic. From a tender age, he watched as his father stitched wounds, set bones, and nursed the sick back to health. And it was here, in the cacophony of the barber shop, that Elian first discovered his knack for healing.

Elian’s childhood was as typical as it could be in a small town. He helped his father in the shop, played with his friends, and enjoyed the simplicity of rural life. But there was one thing that made him stand out – his empathetic nature. He was always the one to patch up his friends after their boisterous games, and he never shied away from helping injured animals he found in the woods.

As he grew older, Elian started learning his father’s trade. He learned how to wield a straight razor with precision, how to make a perfect lather, and how to provide comfort to those who walked through their doors. He also learned the art of healing – not just the practical aspect, but also the patience and compassion it required.

The defining moment came during a particularly harsh winter. A group of loggers came into town carrying one of their own, severely injured in an accident. With the snowstorm blocking off all routes out of Stagsfell, it fell to Markus and Elian to save the man’s life. Armed with nothing more than barber’s tools and an unwavering will, they managed to stabilize him, saving his life. It was a harrowing experience, but it confirmed to Elian what he had suspected for a while – his calling was healing, but not just in the safety of a barber shop.

After the incident, Elian picked up the shield and decided to venture out into the world. He trained under the town’s retired guard captain, learning how to protect himself and others. He understood the significance of a shield, not just as a piece of protective equipment, but as a symbol of his commitment to safeguard others. He also used his knowledge of healing to act as a battlefield medic.

Today, Elian travels from one battlefield to another, lending his aid to those in need. Whether it’s curing the sick, stitching up wounds, or standing up to evil with his shield raised, Elian does it with unwavering determination and compassion. In every cut he sutures, every bone he sets, he can still see a reflection of his father’s barber shop, but now, it’s not just about healing – it’s about protecting, too.
